For its role in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Hong Kong Jockey Club needed to develop a warm up cool down walking path for horses participating in the equestrian events.
Penfold Park, Sha Tin, was the selected venue for this bridle path. And the requirement was to have a fenced synthetic track which followed the contour of the existing parklands and was highly sympathetic to the park’s extensive public use.
Specifically, fences needed to be horse-friendly and ensure that the public and their pet animals did not run into the into the path of the horses.
As offset fence, with a mesh infill on the inner side of the track, was designed by Steriline Racing in conjunction with engineers from the HKJC.
Steriline Racing ... simply superior.
